Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born the 13th of December, 1989 in Pennsylvania's West Reading. Swift is a pop/country songwriter and singer for the past 20 years. The stories she tells of her young love and heartbreak have gained her widespread popularity during the 21st Century. Swift began showing an desire to work in the music industry at a young age. Her career progressed rapidly through the play of kids to her first public appearance the presence of thousands. Swift was eleven years old when she first performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. The following year Swift began to write songs, and also picked up the guitar. Swift was inspired by artists in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks to come up with original songs that reflected the loneliness she felt at 13 years old. Swift's parents moved her from Pennsylvania to Tennessee at the age of 13 when they decided to sell their Pennsylvania farm. The move allowed Swift to spend more time courting labels for traditional music from Nashville.
